Romance amongst the trees at The Tree Church
Liv and Leighton – what a couple! From our initial consultation where we chatted about styling and designing their dream day, I could sense the immense amount of love these two held for each other.
Their day was held at the utterly romantic Tree Church in Ohaupo. The name says it all really; beautiful gardens, lush lawns and a church made out of trees.
They began their wedding with a first look. Leightons raw and emotional reaction when he saw his stunning bride meant there were no dry eyes for the onlookers. Liv absolutely breathtaking in her Trish Peng gown, and Leighton in his Dorset suit, the two set the tone for their guests who were elegant lil in black.
As they said ‘I Do’ amongst the trees, their friends and family celebrated by an epic confetti throw as they walked down the aisle.
They held their cocktail hour in a clearing in the trees, and the reception in the outdoor dining area of the venue.Having their day surrounded by nature really created a calming and romantically beautiful feeling.
After their dinner of wood fired Pizzas, the party carried on into the evening where surprise speeches and songs from their guests reflected how loved these two are.
The best part? This wedding was a surprise that only their close 50 guests knew about. We were also lucky enough to be present at their ‘engagement party’ which was held at Camarosa Eatery in Hamilton the following week. Here, their wedding video was played for their 200 guests as a surprise reveal. Watching the reaction of their extended friend/family group will forever be one of those memorable moments as a wedding planner. With a significant social media following, being a part of Liv and Leightons huge surprise from the public was a lot of fun!
